Research Scientist
Biography
After completing his BSc study in Physics Engineering and MSc study in Physics in Turkey, Dr Ali Karatutlu continued his research career as a post-graduate research student at Centre for Condensed Matter and Materials in School of Physics and Astronomy at Queen Mary, University of London. He completed his project on synthesis, structure and light emission of free-standing germanium nanoparticles in May, 2014. Here, He has developed skills on various experimental production methods and characterisation techniques. Currently, he works as a project engineer at Bilkent University. His research interests includes but not limited to nanomaterials synthesis, chracterisation and their applications related to human health, energy, aero-space applications and environment. Recently, Dr Karatutlu has also been working on the preform production using modified chemical vapor deposition system, fiber drawing, fiber lasers and applications. He has been recommended as a referee and panelist for international and national level projects/papers evaluations. Some examples of the journals he has been reviewing for are RSC Nanoscale, RSC Advances, ChemElectroChem, PSSa, and Advanced Materials Interfaces.
