JOB DESCRIPTION:
İ.D. Bilkent University UNAM-National Nanotechnology Research Center, Ortaç Group will employ new team members to participate in conducting duties in the optical fiber projects;
- Designing, numerical modeling of optical fiber preforms and optical fibers,
- Development and optimization of production procedures of optical fiber preforms and optical fibers,
- Initial inspection, characterization and reporting
GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- To be graduated from the departments such as Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Physics, Physics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, preferably having a master’s degree/doctorate,
- To be a part of the device realization team with optical fiber preform and optical fiber production, characterization and use of advanced optical fibers,
- To be able to use or be experienced in chemical vapor deposition (CVD/MCVD), glass and chemical production methods,
- To understand the principles of heat, mass and energy transfer in complex chemical processes,
- To have knowledge of characterization methods such as SEM/EDS/WDS, MOPS, determination of refractive index profile with preform analyzer,
- To have knowledge of production concepts such as calibration and quality systems,
- Preferably having knowledge of optical characterization measurements and analyzing the results,
- Ability to use statistical analysis techniques (Minitab or ERP systems),
- To have knowledge and experience about Lumerical, Comsol and Matlab programs
- To ensure the regular dissemination of results by preparing articles for peer-reviewed journals, presenting results at conferences, or participating in screenings at other appropriate events,
- Assisting in the supervising/mentoring of master’s and doctoral students,
- Contributing to the daily activities of the research group,
- Performing administrative tasks related to research activities, risk assessment, organization of project meetings and documentation. Implementing procedures to ensure that official reporting is accurate and timely.
- Being available to participate in the work that may be in the field if needed,
- To have English proficiency to follow the current literature and to apply relevant innovations,
- To be performed the military service for male candidates,
- To be a Turkish citizen.
